Compatibility

The recommended ROM is NTSC US revision 1 (US V1.1), MD5 e03b088b6ac9e0080440efed07c1e40f. US V1.0 is supported but not recommended; PAL and Japanese ROMs require executables built for their respective regions.

The authors list Windows 7+ and Linux on i686/x86_64, macOS on x86_64 (10.9+) or arm64 (11.0+), and Nintendo Switch arm64 as supported and tested. A GPU with OpenGL 3.0 or OpenGL ES 3.0 or newer is required.

Documented support and independently tested compatibility are different. AllRecomps has not run these games.

Development progress

The authors describe single-player and split-screen multiplayer as fully working within a mostly functional port. This is the project’s documented assessment, not an AllRecomps gameplay test.

Known limitations

The README reports minor graphical and gameplay issues and possible occasional crashes. Experimental tick rates above roughly 165 FPS can cause issues; the authors recommend a frame-rate cap or VSync.

Getting started

For the standard NTSC build, create a data folder beside the executable and place your ROM there as pd.ntsc-final.z64. PAL and Japanese builds use pd.pal-final.z64 and pd.jpn-final.z64 respectively.
